Check the throttle is rigged to mid yellow in the flight gate.

Check the governor rigging

Check the anticipator spring is not extended with the collective full up.

Check no fuel is running out the engine deck drain on start up. ( left rear cross tube drain )

Check for cracked fuel lines around the engine and the engine accessories.

Check the airframe fuel filter--fuel control fuel filter and auxiliary fuel filter.

Check the ignition drain valve is not leaking fuel back to the fuel tank at idle.

Check the ignition drain valve data plate is facing up.

Check the bleed valve closes at the appropriate time per the maintenance manual charts.

Check the permeability per chapter 73 of the engine maintenance manual.

Check the P-2 air line going from the compressor to the fuel control has no cracked flares.

Check the fuel control P-2 cavity for fuel by disconnecting the P-2 air line at the fuel control.
There should be no fuel nor smell of fuel. Remove the fitting and look inside the cavity if necessary.

Fuel control unit temperature compensator may be collapsed. Perform fuel control
characteristics check per engine manual chapter 73

Check the Fuel control for split line leaks.

Check the Fuel control drive seal by disconnecting the 6 o’clock line at the Fuel control base
and be sure no more than 8 drops per minute ( or 1 per each 8 seconds ) of fuel runs out with the engine running. Chapter 73 of the engine maintenance manual.
(It is normal to see fuel drops at this drain with the engine shut down and the booster pump on.)

Check De-acceleration device on 1D1 per chapter 73-20-01 of the engine maintenance manual.

Fuel Control internal problems. è Change the Fuel Control.
